Youth Congress begins 3-day long sit-in-stir over growing unemployment in Tripura


The Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress began a three-day long sit-in-stir here at Agartala over the growing unemployment rate in Tripura.

The youth congress president Rakhu Das who is leading the 72 hours long stir infront of Agartala City Centre at Paradise Chowmuhni alleged that since after the formation of the BJP government in Tripura, the rate of unemployment has gradually gone up.

“At a time when the previous Left front government had left at least 7 lakhs youth unemployed in our state, the BJP government continued to grow the rate of unemployment and announced a battle against the youths of this state,” he told reporters.

He said that the stir is to press for 11-point charter of demand which includes fulfilment of the posts lying vacant in various government departments, immediate recruitment of TET qualified teachers, bringing a permanent solution for the axed 10,323 teachers and others.

He also demanded an investigation by the High Court Chief Justice on the recent TSR recruitment, which has witnessed massive corruption.

Former Chief Minister of the state Sameer Ranjan Barman, AICC secretary and in-charge of Tripura Szarita Laitphlang among others joined the sit-in-stir on Monday. The stor will end on Wednesday next.
