NITI Aayog member Dr V K Saraswat who headed the delegates of the NITI Aayog in their visit to the state, on Wednesday chaired a meeting with the Industry Associations, Civil Society Organizations & Academia of Tripura here at Agartala State Guest House and stressed on the need of growing more industries in the state to grow the state’s economy.
During the meeting, Dr Saraswat urged the industrialists to access the PPP-model in setting up their industries in Tripura. He said that in addition to the generation of more employment opportunities in the state, opening of more industrial plants will also help in growing export of produced goods from the state to the rest of the parts of the country.
He urged industrialists to build ware houses on PPP model and advised to work for the development of tourism in coordination with the tourism department.
During the meeting the NITI Aayog member Dr V K Saraswat said that educational institutions have a great role in the development of the state. A lot of innovative work can be done in the field of education, health and other sectors as well, he said, adding that the heads of educational institutions need to extend a hand of cooperation in building Tripura a developed state.
He laid emphasis on introducing a course on Rubber Technology in Tripura University and opined that the state should have a state of excellence on one subject. He also stressed on introducing Fundamental Course in Mathematics in MBB University.
