Jacqueline Fernandez reveals she slapped Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma for real in Cirkus
Dec 23, 2022Filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus is out in theatres. The film, which stars Ranveer Singh in a double role, has opened to mixed reviews. The film also stars Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles. Jacqueline, who plays the girlfriend to Ranveer, had to slap him and Varun for a scene. But, the actress was so nervous on the first day of set, she actually slapped them for real.
In an interview, Jacqueline Fernandez revealed, “I was nervous on my first day of the shoot that actually in real I slapped Varun and Ranveer in the shot. I was so nervous that I didn't act the slap scene but slapped them. And after that I felt, I think I broke the ice. See we all broke the ice.”
Varun was quick to reply, “Yeah if you (showing his cheek) call this ice” whereas Ranveer quipped, “Yes. Broke the jaw line for which I required ice.”
Cirkus is based on The Comedy of Errors, which inspired the Gulzar cult comedy, Angoor and is set in the 1960s’. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johny Lever, Siddharth Jadhav, Tiku Talsania, Sanjay Mishra, Vijay Patkar, Ashwini Kalsekar, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Brijendra Kala among others. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Cirkus released on December 23, 2022.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh will next star in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
