Tripura cabinet decides to recruit 40 assistant professors


Agartala, Feb 01: Aiming to render quality education to the students, the Tripura cabinet on Tuesday had decided to recruit more 40 assistant professors for different degree colleges of the state. Briefing the cabinet decision, the education minister Ratan Lal Nath this evening said, “In addition to the 36 assistant professors who were already posted on Monday last, more 40 assistant professors shall be recruited soon for better education.”

“The cabinet today also decided to recruit 22 assistant professors for Kok-Borok subject in different degree colleges. Apart from this, offers for the 57 selected lecturers for technical colleges will be issued soon to meet the faculty crisis,” Nath said.He said, “We have also decided to seek post creations for 355 assistant professors from the finance department soon.”

Nath today told reporters that the cabinet had decided to re-open all hostels and boarding houses under the school education department run by SC welfare, Tribal Welfare, Minority Welfare and Samagra Siksha from February 2 next. Meanwhile, on being asked about the reaction to the Union Budget presented on Tuesday, Nath said, “This year’s budget for the education sector has been increased by 12% from previous year’s allocated budget. This year Rs. 1,04,278 Crore  is allocated on this year’s budget which was Rs. 93, 224 Crore during last year’s budget allocation.”
