CM Dr. Manik Saha unveils statue of Rishi Aurobindo


Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha on Monday unveiled the statue of Rishi Aurobindo to mark 65th Foundation Day of Aurobindo Club at Kasar Patii, Agartala.

Addressing in the programme Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha said, Rishi Aurobindo was a great philosopher as well as a patriot. The great ideals he left behind to liberate the country are still relevant today. We have to move forward following the ideals of Rishi Aurobindo, he added.

Rishi Aurobindo's spiritual philosophy was unimaginable. His philosophies and thoughts need to be applied in our lives as well. Only then will it be possible to build a healthy society, he said adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also working to protect the integrity of the country by following the patriotic ideas of the great philosopher Rishi Aurobindo. The prime minister aims to make the country a global leader. We also have to come forward with the initiative taken, he added.

Clubs are playing a very important role in building a healthy society & a positive change in the club culture is now visible. Concerted efforts of all are required for maintaining this culture for a social change, he added.

The club culture has changed in the state over the past few years. The clubs have been able to come out of the unhealthy culture that started in the 70s. Now, we are moving towards the direction of social change & clubs are playing a special role. He stated, "Clubs are now engaging in various social works, practicing yoga, participating in sports, and more.

Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder and others were also present.
