CM inaugurates Hirudhan Deb Smriti Knock-out Tennis Cricket Tournament
Feb 22, 2022Agartala, Feb 22: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday inaugurated the Hirudhan Deb Smriti Knock-out Tennis Cricket Tournament at Agartala MBB College ground and appealed to the youths of the state to get indulged to the sports and be active towards combating the drug menace in the state. Deb said, “Playground can keep the youth away from the hands of addiction which is why the youth have to involved more with the playground.”
The Chief Minister said that the state government is uncompromisingly working to prevent usage of illicit drugs and HIV infection. Government has taken the initiative to take the youngsters of this generation towards new direction through building a developed Tripura. “Mission 100 Vidyajyoti Schools is a new path towards making bright future of the youngsters of the state,” Deb said.
Before inaugurating the tournament, which was named after his father Hirudhan Deb, Deb today paid floral tribute to the portrait of his late father. President of Tripura Cricket Association Dr. Manik Saha, Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Sushanta Choudhury, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumdar, Chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation Santosh Saha, and Vice Chancellor of MBB College Prof. Satyadeo Poddar were present in the programme today.
