About 25 shops gutted in fire at Kailashahar


About 25 shops were gutted in a fire that spread in Baburbazar in Kailashahar on Saturday early morning. The fire that started around 4:10 am took more than one hour of firefighting followed by cooling operations to be brought under control. The amount of damage caused by the fire would be around Rs 2 crore.

It was reported that, a fire suddenly broke out in the bazaar shed of Haji Akbar Ali in Babur bazar on Saturday early morning. Babur Bazar is the largest market in Kailashahar, and due to the fire incident in this market there is intense fear in the concerned area.

According to the eyewitnesses, after they saw the fire they immediately contacted the fire department, after getting the information fire engine rushed to the spot and took the situation in control. The locals of the area also contacted the police station, after getting the information a large police force comprising of police personnel and TSR reached the spot and started rescue operations. The cause of the fire is lightning, said the eyewitnesses.
