PV Sindhu moves to Quarterfinals of Arctic Open at Vantaa, Finland
Oct 12, 2023In Badminton, eighth-seeded PV Sindhu today moved to the Quarterfinals of the Arctic Open at Vantaa in Finland defeating Chinese Taipei’s Wen Chi Hsu 21-11, 21-10 in the 2nd round.
In the other Women's Singles match, Aakarshi Kashyap will meet China's Wang Zhiyi.
In Men's Singles, World Championships silver medallist, Kidambi Srikanth will face Japan’s Kanta Tsuneyama in a Round of 16 match.
In the other Men's Singles match, Kiran George will clash with the fourth-seeded Lu Guang Zu of China. He defeated France’s Toma Junior Popov 24-22, 15-21, 21-15 in the first round.
In Women's Doubles, Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponappa stunned higher-ranked Rena Miyaura and Ayako Sakuramoto of Japan in straight games 22-20, 21-19 to move to the next round yesterday.
