Deepti Sharma Rises to Second Spot in ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings

Indian spinner Deepti Sharma has climbed to the second position in the latest ICC Women’s T20 International bowling rankings, edging closer than ever to becoming the top-ranked bowler in the format.

The 27-year-old all-rounder moved up one spot in the rankings after overtaking Australian pacer Annabel Sutherland. She now trails Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal — the current No. 1 — by just eight rating points.

Deepti's latest ranking boost comes on the back of a strong performance in the third T20I of India’s five-match series against England, where she took three crucial wickets. Her consistent performances with the ball have kept her among the top 10 T20I bowlers for the better part of the last six years, though she has never reached the top position.

With two more matches remaining in the ongoing series, Deepti has a strong chance of surpassing Iqbal and claiming the No. 1 ranking for the first time in her career.
