The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has officially lifted its ban on Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film Border 2, following a personal appeal from producer Bhushan Kumar. The move allows the film’s shoot to resume, though the broader non-cooperation directive against the actor remains firmly in place.
According to media reports, FWICE President BN Tiwari said, “Yes, the ban has been revoked for this project.” Kumar explained that over 80 percent of Border 2 had already been shot, and replacing Dosanjh at this stage would have caused significant production setbacks and financial losses.
However, the relief comes with conditions. Kumar reportedly gave a written assurance to FWICE that he would not cast Dosanjh in future projects. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, also associated with FWICE, emphasized that the organization’s overall stance on Dosanjh remains unchanged.
