Stop attack on journalists in Bangladesh – Agartala Press Club protest journalist killing in B’desh


The Agartala Press club on Sunday showed protest against the journalists killing in the violence-torn Bangladesh and demanded for sternest action against the culprits involved with the incident, which is highly condemnable.

Agartala Press Club Secretary Ramakanta Dey in a press communique said that at least five journalists were killed, more than 100 injured and the authorities issued warrants against many members of various media houses in Bangladesh.

A protest demonstration was held in front of the Agartala Press Club on Sunday afternoon to protest the attack and killing of journalists in the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, where senior journalists including the President of Agartala Press Club Jayanta Bhattacharjee and others participated.

The journalists demanded that the interim government of Bangladesh should immediately play a strict role in stopping any kind of attacks on journalists.

Senior Editor Subal Kumar Dey, Sanjeev Dev, Senior Journalist Shekhar Dutta, Kalyanjit Singh, Sanjit Debnath and members of Agartala Press Club's management committee, journalists, photojournalists were present in the program.

The agitating journalists said that Agartala Press Club will also play a role in spreading the global movement on a larger scale if the attacks on journalists in neighboring Bangladesh are not stopped.
