Tripura Assembly Poll: TMC promises Bengal mode of development in poll manifesto


The Trinamool Congress party on Sunday released its poll manifesto following the February 16 assembly election and promised of Bengal mode of development in Tripura.

Addressing a press conference, West Bengal education minister Bratya Basu said that the TMC will create 2 lakh jobs in five years with 50,000 new jobs in the first year itself if voted to power. He also said that the vacant posts in the government departments will be filled up on mission mode.

The TMC’s poll manifesto also promised benefits for the 10323 retrenched teachers in Tripura until their legal matter is resolved.

The state in-charge of the party Rajib Banerjee said the promises made in the manifesto will be implemented in true spirit if the party is voted to power. He said, "Our leaders Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee do what they promise unlike others.”

He however said that the manifesto has been formulated in accordance with the "Bengal model of development".
