President Droupadi Murmu calls upon armed forces personnel to keep in mind integrated perspective of defence preparedness


President Droupadi Murmu has called upon the personnel of the Indian Air Force to adopt the integrated approach to the defence preparedness of the country. She asked them to imbibe the spirit of an inspiring motto - touch the sky with glory- and live up to the expectations of the nation.

The President has presented wings and brevets to the flying officers and commissioned Indian Air Force Trainees in the flying branch and trainees in the Ground duty branch on completion of their training today, June 17. Ten more officials from Indian Navy, Cost Guard, and two trainee officials from Vietnam also have been presented wings at the Combined Graduation Parade. This is for the first time in the history of the Air Force Academy that the President of India has been the reviewing officer.

Speaking on the occasion, the President asked the newly commissioned officers to carry forward the great legacy of the Indian Air Force in defending the country and be guided by the determination that was shown by the force during the previous conflicts. Appreciating the services of the Air Force in the recent operations in Turkey and Syria during disasters and Medical emergencies, she said these operations are testimony to the high capability of the force.

She also appreciated the efforts that are underway for modernising and strengthening the  Air Force by including Raffle flights and other modern helicopters. Earlier, academy commandant Air Marshal Chandrasekhar administered oaths to the newly commissioned officers. Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief of the Air Staff Chief Marshal V R Choudhary are also present.

The Parade has been accompanied by Synchronized flypasts by Pilarus PC-7, MK II, Chetak, Dornier, Hawk, and Kiran aircraft.  Aerobatic shows by Pilatus the Sarang Helicopter Surya Kirans and SU-30 demonstrated enthralling displays.
