Jun 19, 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed his first official visit to Croatia, marking a milestone in India-Croatia relations. During his visit, PM Modi held wide-ranging talks with Croatian PM Andrej Plenković, focusing on trade, technology, culture, and global peace. He stressed that conflicts, whether in Europe or Asia, must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy—not war.
India and Croatia signed four key MoUs covering agriculture, cultural exchange (2026–2030), science & technology cooperation (2025–2029), and the establishment of a Hindi Chair at the University of Zagreb. Areas like defence, semiconductors, clean energy, and shipbuilding were identified for future collaboration.
PM Modi also met Croatian President Zoran Milanović to reaffirm shared democratic values and international cooperation. He thanked Croatia for its solidarity following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam and highlighted yoga’s growing popularity in the country.
Calling the visit a landmark in bilateral ties, PM Modi expressed gratitude to the Croatian people for their warm welcome and hospitality.
