National Skill Training Institute for women at Agartala inaugurated


In a significant stride towards empowering women through skill development, the union minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday inaugurated National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) exclusively for women, established here at Agartala.

The union minister had inaugurated the NSTI virtually in presence of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Minister Santana Chakma, Union MoS for SJ&E Pratima Bhaumik and others.

Inaugurating the institute, the Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that this will stand as true symbols of women empowerment. Women will work towards illuminating the path of the women in the region equipping them with skills, and attitude and help in the advancement of women led development envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said, “Our dedication to women empowerment goes beyond rhetoric; it's reflected in tangible actions aimed at fostering self-reliance.”

“Recognizing the pivotal role of economic independence, we've shifted our focus to ensure that women have the tools to secure their financial futures,” he said.

He said, “The Tripura State Policy for Empowerment of Women 2022 stands as a testament to our commitment, outlining our strategic approach to fostering gender equality and economic empowerment.”

Under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS), NSTI in Agartala offers courses in Cosmetology, Dress Making, and Secretarial Practice (English).
