STGT job aspirants demand early release of results


Concerned over the inordinate delay in the results announcement of the Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) even after more than a year, candidates who had appeared for the test staged a massive protest here at Agartala on Saturday and demanded the government for early announcement of their results and hire qualified candidates at the earliest.

The STGT examination was conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board of Tripura (TRBT) in September 2022.

With placards in hand, the protestors vented their anger at the lengthy hold-up in the release of the results, pointing out that more than a year and a half had passed since the test was Conducted, however, the results are yet to be announced.

They stated that, despite earlier promises from the then-education minister that the delay Caused by a legal issue, the problem still exists even after it has been resolved. The protestors highlighted that many candidates are now at risk of ageing and no longer be eligible for government jobs.

The agitators appealed to Chief Minister Manik Saha to address the issue as early as possible in order to address the teacher shortage in government schools and to protect the future of aspiring educators, they pointed out the urgency of finishing the recruitment process.
