IPFT MLA Dhananjoy Tripura resigns; joins TIPRA Motha ahead of 2023 polls

In yet another major blow for the IPFT partner, an alliance partner of the ruling BJP in Tripura ahead of the ensuing 2023 assembly elections in Tripura, the sixth MLA Dhananjoy Tripura on Friday resigned from the post and joined the TIPRA Motha. At present the IPFT party’s strength is reduced to six and BJP has 35 MLAs at present. The IPFT MLA of the Raima Valley constituency in Dhalai district accompanied by the TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Deb Burman Friday noon tendered his resignation with the speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Ratan Chakraborty.
