BJP organizing malign campaign against TIPRA Motha in ADC: Animesh Debbarma

The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) Motha on Wednesday ruled out the BJP’s allegation of corruption in TTAADC and termed the BJP Janajati Morcha’s protest march of Raj Bhawan Abhiyan as a malign campaign against TIPRA Motha.

“If the BJP has any evidence of corruption in TTADC then let the people of this state know about it,” said Deputy Chief Executive Member Animesh Debbarma on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala Press Club on Wednesday Debbarma said, “The BJP’s protest march over ‘corruption’ in TTAADC is an attempt to defame the ADC administration and TIPRA Motha party.”

“The ruling BJP government, which has sanctioned only Rs. 619 crore for ADC, which is not even 2% of the state’s budget of Rs. 26,800 crore, is unable to accept the development of Tiprasas in ADC,” Debbarma said.

He said, “Rs. 500 crore is being spend for paying salaries and pensions to the employees of TTAADC administration leaving the rest of the amount for developmental works in ADC. The TTAADC administration is working tirelessly to enhance the livelihood of the people residing in ADCs. But, it is the ruling BJP party which is simply organizing a malign campaign against us.”

He continued attacking the ruling BJP party and said, “As compared to the previous Left front government, the BJP government has neither introduced new roads nor they worked for the maintenance of the old roads in the ADC. In fact, the government, which is not been able to work for any development to this state is now blaming the TIPRA Motha party in the name of corruption in ADC.”

He also slammed the BJP government over the vision document and said, “What they did with their vision document? The BJP without meeting its pre-poll promises is simply hatching conspiracy against others to cheat the people of this state.”

The Deputy CEM on Wednesday also informed that the TTAADC administration passed a customary bill for 14 tribes of the state. The administration also passed the District Council Police rule bill which will attract the Tiprasa youths to join the TTAADC police, he told reporters.
