AR seizes 20,000 Yaba Tablets worth Rs 1 Crore
Dec 06, 2023Assam Rifles under Inspector General Assam Rifle (East) seized 20,000 Yaba Tablets at near Bangladesh Border of Sonamura, Sepahijala District, Tripura on 05 December 2023.
Based on the specific information that Yaba Tablets has been smuggled and hidden in a house near Bangladesh Border at Sonamura, Sepahijala, District, Tripura. Operation was launched swiftly and after reaching the location security Forces has observed the movement of two suspicious individuals on Motorcycle near Bangladesh border. They were coming at very high speed and didn't stop on check point and tried to run away. The officer tried to chases the vehicle, seeing the security Forces vehicle coming and challenging them they threw 02 sealed packets into bushes near the forest road & flee away by taking advantage of dense foliage and forest.
The operation party after a thorough search of the area, found these 02 sealed packets which contain quantity of 20,000 Yaba Tablets approx local market value worth of Rs 1Crore and in International market its values goes up twice and thrice.
