Jul 01, 2025
A new book titled The Untold Kerala Story, inspired by filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s film The Kerala Story, was officially launched at a special event in New Delhi. The book, authored by Sudipto Sen and Ambika JK, was unveiled by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the presence of the authors, Shah, and several invited guests.
The book builds upon the themes explored in The Kerala Story, a film that garnered national attention for its depiction of sensitive social and political issues. The Untold Kerala Story aims to further examine these topics in greater depth, presenting narratives that the authors believe have been overlooked or underrepresented.
Speaking at the event, CM Rekha Gupta commended the authors and the filmmakers for their work. Later, in a post on Twitter, she praised the book for highlighting significant issues concerning Kerala and acknowledged its contribution to ongoing national conversations. She also congratulated the team behind the project for their commitment to bringing such stories to the public domain.
Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who directed and produced The Kerala Story, expressed his gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of continuing such discussions through literature and media.
The launch marks a significant step in expanding the impact of The Kerala Story, moving its message from screen to page, and potentially reaching a broader audience.
