Tripura govt to conduct mock drills for combating earthquake in 41 locations on Dec 21
Dec 19, 2023To generate more awareness about combating earthquakes and natural disasters, the Tripura government has planned to conduct state-level mock drill in at least 41 locations of the state on December 21 next, said Secretary of the state revenue department Dr T K Debnath on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference here in the conference hall of the civil secretariat, the secretary said that the Tripura Disaster Management Authority and the District Disaster Management Authority jointly with the National Disaster Management Authority will conduct the mock drills in at least 6 locations in the West district and 5 locations each in rest of the seven districts of the state.
He said that as Tripura is located in an earthquake prone area, this mock drill has been organised to showcase the rescue and relief work to be done in case of earthquake disasters in the state.
