CM Dr Manik Saha inaugurates DIET College in North Tripura

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday inaugurated the newly built DIET College Jalebasa in Panisagar of North Tripura district and said that the government is working to ensure quality education for all and enhance the educational infrastructure in the state.
Addressing the gathering of students and teachers in the inauguration programme, the Chief Minister, who also holds the education portfolio on Tuesday stressed on implementation of Centre’s New Education Policy in all educational institutions of the state to ensure better education for all.
Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, MLA Binoy Bhushan Das, MLA Jadablal Nath, North Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Bhabatosh Das, School Education Department Special Secretary Raval Hemendra Kumar, DM of North Tripura district Debapriya Brdhan and others were present in the programme.
“There was a time when students from abroad used to come to study in India. Referring to Nalanda and Taxila universities, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to restore India's education system to its former glory,” Dr Saha said.
The Chief Minister also said that in the financial year 2023-24, the central government has allocated Rs 1,12,899 Crore for the education sector, which is about 14 percent more than the financial year 2020-21.
