PM Modi addresses closing ceremony of Jaipur Mahakhel; says central govt is increasing sports facilities at district & local level


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the country is creating new definitions and creating new systems in the era of Amrit Kal. Sports are now being looked at from the players point of view rather than from the government point of view. Mr. Modi was addressing the closing ceremony of Jaipur Mahakhel today. The Prime Minister said that Nothing is impossible for the youth. When the youth get the power of self-respect, strength, self-reliance, facilities and resources, then every goal becomes easy. He disclosed that the Sports Budget of the country has increased almost three times since 2014”

Prime Minister said that earlier the youth of the country used to have a passion for sports and also had talent, but often the lack of resources and government cooperation came in the way every time. Now these challenges of the players are being resolved. He said that the central government is increasing sports facilities at district and local level and sports infrastructure is being built.

Mr. Modi said that the government is paying special attention to ensure that no sportsperson is left behind due to lack of funds. The amount given in major sports awards has also been increased three times.

He said that fitness is very important not only for sports but also for normal life. That is why along with Khelo India, Fit India is also a big mission for the country. Food and nutrition are also important in fitness. Therefore, on the request of India, the United Nations has declared this year as the Year of Millets, which has become a global campaign.

The Prime Minister said that the country is working for the all-round development of the youth. More than 6 thousand players of the Jaipur Rural area participated in the Jaipur Mahakhel which started on 12th January  Member of parliament from Jaipur Rural Col Rajyavardhan Rathore launched this Games in 2017.
