Northeast Chief Ministers unite in Support of ‘Operation Sindoor’


Chief Ministers from the Northeast region of India have come together to praise and support ‘Operation Sindoor’, the cross-border strike conducted by the Indian armed forces on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7. This operation was in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that took place on April 22.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media to express his admiration for the operation, writing “जय हिन्द #OperationSindoor”. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma emphasized the importance of fighting against terrorism, stating, “India remembers and India fights back. There is no room for terrorism. Jai Hind.” Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang commended the armed forces for their bravery and dedication, highlighting that their actions protect the sovereignty of the nation.

Former Manipur CM N Biren Singh also echoed his support for the operation, mentioning that justice is being served in response to the Pahalgam attack. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha also expressed their solidarity with the armed forces through social media posts.

The united front presented by the Northeast Chief Ministers demonstrates the strong political and emotional significance of ‘Operation Sindoor’. Their support for the armed forces’ swift retaliation against terrorism showcases bipartisan unity in the region. The operation has garnered widespread praise and acknowledgment for the Indian armed forces’ dedication to protecting the nation and its citizens.
