Schools in Tripura to remain shutdown till April 23 as severe heat wave hits state

To restrict the children stepping out from their house amid the severe heat wave in the state, the government has decided to shut down all government and government aided schools till April 23 next.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday took to this social media handle to announce the government’s decision of closure of schools across the state.

“There is a chance that the severe heat wave of the sun is likely to impact the health of students and children of the state. In view of this Government has decided to shutdown schools from April 18 till April 23 next due to severe heat wave,” CM Dr. Saha stated.

He said, “Apart from this the authorities of the private institutions in the state were also requested to keep their schools shutdown during the period.”

The decision has come up a day after Tripuratoday in its social media handle urged the government to find the feasibility of closing schools for a certain period of time due to the severe heat wave and to ensure that the excessive heat does not put any hazardous impact on the students.
