National Edu Policy to play supportive role in enhancing skills of students: CM Dr. Manik Saha


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday said that the National Education policy of the PM Modi led government at the Centre will play a supportive role towards enhancing and developing the skills and talent of the students of Tripura.

Dr. Saha was addressing a programme of implementation of National Education Policy in higher education level here at Agartala Town Hall. The Chief Minister claimed that the policy will increase the quality of education in the state in the coming days.

“The new National Education Policy has been formulated with the aim of developing a world-class education system compatible with Indian values,” Dr. Saha said.

He said that after Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Assam, the Tripura government is also implementing the policy primarily in the higher education level. The Chief Minister also said that the new National Education Policy-2020 has 4-year degree courses with Honours/Research and also it has the facility of exit and entrance.

“Besides ensuring quality education, the NEP also laid emphasis on creating employment. Teachers and professors should also pay attention to the NEP’s guidelines for the successful implementation of the policy in the state,” he said.

The Vice Chancellor of the Tripura Central University Prof. Gangaprasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Bir Bikram University Prof. Satyadeo Poddar and Director of Higher Education NC Sharma, among others were present in the programme.
