Tripura to go paperless with e-Cabinet system

Second in the Northeastern states after Arunachal Pradesh, the Tripura government will soon launch an e-Cabinet system to enable paperless processing of Cabinet Meetings, streamline decision-making processes, and support the Government’s Green Secretariat initiative.

Briefing the cabinet decision on Wednesday evening, the cabinet spokesperson and minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, “Very soon Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will launch the e-Cabinet system as part of a paperless move.”

“Tripura will be the fourth state in the country to go paperless administration with an e-Cabinet system after Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh. As part of the system, the proposals in the state cabinet meeting and the press briefing on cabinet decisions will be made through tabs,” he told reporters.

The state cabinet on Wednesday approved the decision of launching the e-Cabinet system developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

e-Cabinet, which is a totally end-to-end ICT Solution on the note of Green-Initiative, aims to reduce the usage of paper during the whole process of Cabinet Meeting. The solution simulates the paper-like experience of meetings in Smart Tablets and automates all major activities of Cabinet Meetings.
