PM Modi addresses Civil Servants on occasion of Civil Services Day in Delhi


Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged government servants of central and state governments to make decisions keeping only the country's benefit in mind. He was addressing civil servants on the occasion of Civil Services Day in Delhi. Saying that good governance is key, Mr. Modi pointed out that an officer's accomplishments will not be judged by their personal achievements, but by how people's lives have been transformed through their work. He said young civil servants will play the most important role in the development of a New India during the Amrit Kaal. Mr. Modi said it is a collective responsibility to fulfill the dreams of the freedom fighters in the Amrit Kaal.

The Prime Minister said the inspiration fuelled by Panch Pran for a developed India will boost the nation to unprecedented heights. He highlighted that the deficiencies in the system have now been converted into efficiency. He added that this efficiency is helping the government in tackling numerous policy-related problems. He further stated that his government is working with the vision to serve everyone by efficiently using their time and resources. He said, the Government's mantra continues to be nation first, citizen first.

Mr Modi expressed happiness that the achievements in the last nine years have prepared India for a very big leap. He said India is number one in digital payments and one of the countries where mobile data is the cheapest. He said, the country's rural economy is transforming. He pointed out that despite COVID, India is the world’s fifth-biggest economy and the world’s third-biggest startup ecosystem.

The Prime Minister stressed that it was due to the previous system that there were over four crore fake gas connections, four crore fake ration cards, and the Minority Ministry was giving scholarship benefits to 30 lakh fake youths.

On the occasion, Mr. Modi also conferred Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration to 16 awardees. He released E-books - Viksit Bharat - Empowering Citizens and Reaching the last mile Volume I and II.
