Flood situation improves slightly due to better weather conditions in Assam


In Assam, flood situation improves slightly due to better weather condition but more than 4,00,000 people are still reeling under the deluge across 15 districts in the state.

A total of 1118 villages of 42 revenue circles affected due to flood and 8469 hectares of crop areas have been damaged across the state. One more person lost his life in Nalbari district, reports.

According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), several embankments, roads, bridges and other infrastructure have been damaged by flood waters in several districts.

State Government has opened 101 Relief camps and 119 relief distribution centres in flood affected districts and over 81000 people are in the relief camps.  NDRF and SDRF teams have also been deployed for rescue and relief.
