Asian Para Games: Indian athletes take the country's medal tally to 81 with 18 gold, 23 silver, and 40 bronze

Indian athletes today took the country's medal tally to 81 with 18 gold, 23 silver, and 40 bronze. With two more days left, India is poised to achieve the target of 100 medals in this edition.
On the fourth day today, India has secured three gold medals so far. Sachin Khilari bagged the first gold medal of the day for India in the men's F-46 shot put, setting a new record with a throw of 16.03 meters while Rohit Kumar scored his personal best to bag the bronze medal with a throw of 14.56. In para archery compound mixed event, the pair of Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar won the gold medal. In the R6 - Mixed 50m Rifle Prone SH1 event, Sidhartha Babu secured gold with a score of 247.7, narrowly defeating China's Chao Dong by a mere 0.2 points in a closely contested battle.
In men's discus throw F11 event, Monu Ghangas delivered a silver to India as he produced his personal best throw of 37.87 meters. This was Monu's second medal at the tournament.
In the women's 200m T12 event, Simran Vats claimed silver with a time of 26.12 seconds while the Para Badminton pair of Manasi Joshi and Thulsaimathi reached the final of the Women's Doubles SL3-SU5 event assuring India of another medal. In Women's Shot Put-F34, Bhagyashri Madhavrao Jhadav won the silver with an impressive throw of 7.54m. Simran Kaur clinched silver in women's T12 200m by clocking 26.12.
In the men's shot put F-55 event, Muthuraja claimed bronze medal with a throw of 10.42m.
In women's standard para chess, Himanshi Rathi bagged bronze. In the women's doubles badminton SL3-SU5 event, the pair of Manisha Ramadass and Mandeep Kaur won bronze, making it their second medal at the tournament. Ramadass also clinched the women's Singles SU-5 event bronze medal. In the men's doubles badminton SH-6 category, the pair of Sivarajan Solaimalai and Krishna Nagar bagged the bronze medal while Nithya Sre clinched the bronze medal in the badminton women's singles SH6 event.
In women's para-standard Chess, Himanshi Rathi contributed a bronze to India's medal collection with her exceptional strategic middle game manoeuvre.
In the Archery Men's Doubles - W1 Open event, Adil Mohamed and Naveen Dalal clinched bronze with a remarkable score of 125-120. In Men's Badminton Singles SL-4, Sukant Kadam secured the Bronze with an outstanding performance.
Narayan Thakur kickstarted today's medal streak with a bronze in men's T35 100m. He clocked 14.37 seconds in the event to clinch bronze. Meanwhile, Shreyansh Tiwari had to contend with the bronze in the men's T-37 100m event with a time of 12.24 seconds.
