CM Dr. Manik Saha pays tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday administered the oath of unity to the gathering at a function held at Agartala A D Nagar Manoranjan Debbarma Smriti Stadium and said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is the man behind the developing India.

CM Dr. Saha paid floral tribute to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel here in the ground and witnessed the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) parade organised by the state police administration.

Addressing the gathering on the ground, the Chief Minister said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a key role in safeguarding the unity and integrity of India. He said that day is to commemorate the unification of 565 former princely states with the newly independent Indian Union at the initiative of freedom movement stalwart and India’s first home minister Sardar Ballav Bhai Patel after the British had quit India.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is aimed to inspire the countrymen to celebrate Sardar Patel's birthday as National Unity Day to make the country stronger and more prosperous.

The state Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumder, Director General of Police Amitava Ranjan along with State Security Officers were present in the function.
