Minister Sushanta Chowdhury inaugurates 500 MT capacity food warehouse in Sabroom
Jun 05, 2023The state Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed 500 MT capacity food warehouse at Sabroom Srinagar town and said that the government is focused on strengthening the Public Distribution System in the state.
Addressing the inauguration programme, the minister said that more and more warehouses are being built in the state so as to strengthen the public distribution system.
MLA Mailafru Mog, former MLA Shankar Roy, South Tripura Zilla Parishad member Shankar Bhowmik, ADM of South Tripura District Dhanbabu Reang and Director of Food Department Animesh Debbarma, among others were present in the programme.
On his visit to Sabroom town on Monday the Food Minister chaired a review meeting with the officials of food department of Belonia, Shantirbazar and Sabroom subdivisions to discuss the way out of strengthening the PDS. Series of issues including purchase of paddy from farmers at subsidized price, storage of food, and others were discussed in the meeting.
