CM Dr. Manik Saha reviews progress of National Highway Projects


Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday held a high-level review meeting with senior officials of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to assess the progress of various ongoing and proposed National Highway projects in the state.
The meeting was attended by Amarendra Kumar, Director (Technical), Trivendra Kumar, Executive Director (Technical), Ajay Bishnoi, Executive Director (Projects), and other senior NHIDCL officials.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed serious concern over the poor condition of certain road stretches and directed the officials to expedite repair and maintenance works, particularly on the Khowai–Kamalpur section of NH-208 and the Churaibari–Panisagar section of NH-08, both of which have been severely damaged.
NHIDCL officials gave a detailed presentation on the status of several key infrastructure projects, including: The Agartala Western Bypass, The proposed four-laning of the Churaibari–Sabroom section of NH-08, The Agartala Eastern Bypass and The development of the Udaipur–Amarpur section as a spur of NH-08.
Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of timely completion of these infrastructure projects to improve road connectivity, boost regional development, and enhance economic activities in the state. He also urged the NHIDCL to maintain high construction standards while ensuring that deadlines are met without compromise.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment from all stakeholders to accelerate progress and address critical road infrastructure issues across Tripura.
