CM Dr. Manik Saha inaugurates Govt Nursing College


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday inaugurated the state’s first government nursing college here at Agartala IGM hospital building complex and said that the government is working diligently to make Tripura – a hub of health.

“Plans have been taken to build a health hub in the state by merging all the medical branches, colleges and institutions with the state health services including nursing institute under Directorate of Medical Education,” Dr. Said.

He said that the government is making efforts to expand health services and health infrastructure in the state.

The Chief Minister also said, the Nursing Training Institutes of AGMC and GBP Hospital have been upgraded to Nursing Colleges recently. B.sc Nursing course has commenced in this college with 50 students from the present academic year. Government is working to expand the health education infrastructure in the state so that the medical students of the state need not move abroad to pursue higher studies, he said. 

The Chief Minister further said that ‘Mera Aspataal’ portal has been launched as a part of a digital initiative in health services and this will be linked to e-Hospital platform which will be helpful in treatment of cancer patients. Apart from that, a Trauma Care Centre (Level-3) at North Tripura District Hospital of Dharmanagar will be commenced in the financial year 2023-24, he added.

Secretary of Health and Family Welfare department Dr. Debashish Basu, Director of Medical Education Prof. (Dr.) Har Prasad Sharma and Director of Health Services (Preventive Medicine) Dr. Supriya Mallik among others were present in the programme.
