Agartala-Sabroom train narrowly escapes massive accident


The local train between Agartala- Sabroom on Saturday afternoon narrowly escaped a major accident, as the train crashed against a stones chips loaded trawler left on the track but the pilot somehow managed to stop the train from getting derailed.

It was reported that, the Agartala-Sabroom train on its way to Sabroom from Agartala reached Gautam Nagar area of Bishalgarh when it crashed into a railway trawler loaded with stone chips which had been standing on the same track at Gautam Nagar area of Bishalgarh. The train remained on the track though the unmanned stone-loaded trawler got pushed off the track. There was panic among passengers who feared the worst as the train crashed against the trawler with a booming sound but there was no injury to anybody.

After receiving the news the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel rushed to the spot and within a very short period of time they managed to clear the railway line.

According to the passengers of the train, the accident occurred due to the negligence of the NF Railway staff (Tripura section). The passengers questioned how can they left the stones chips loaded trawler on the track. We are very lucky that the train did not derailed, the passengers said.
