Tripura Durga Puja Carnival – ‘Mayer Gomon’ evoked huge response, claims CM Dr. Manik Saha


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha Saturday termed the Durga Puja Carnival of the state – ‘Mayer Gomon’ as historic and expressed his hope that more people from the state and abroad would attend such carnivals from next year in large numbers. He said, “Government laid utmost importance in maintaining law and order for smooth Durga Puja festival, which was completed peacefully without any untoward incident.”

Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating a Sharad Samman programme here on Saturday. He said that presently the state government is working to protect the people's rights. As the representative of the people, the government is working for the welfare of the people. “The people of this state have witnessed different initiatives of the state government during the Covid pandemic. The state government has tackled the covid pandemic firmly in line with the Prime Minister's guidance. Tripura has also achieved a commendable position compared to other states in the country in terms of covid vaccination, he said.

Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumder, Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta and MLA Mimi Majumdar among others were present in the programme on Saturday. As many as 22 clubs of the city's southern region were awarded for Best Souvenirs, Orderly Puja Organization, Best Environmental Awareness Campaign, Annual Social Work Pledge, Best Puja in Low Budget, Best Pandal Decoration, Best Idol, Best Puja etc.
