Ashwini Ponnappa-Tanisha Crasto enter pre-quarterfinals of Hong Kong Open


In Badminton, Indian women's doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto progressed to the pre-quarterfinals of the Hong Kong Open Super 500 tournament at Kowloon in Hong Kong on Wednesday.
Tanisha and Ashwini beat Chinese Taipei's Lee Chia Hsin and Teng Chun Hsun 21-19 21-19 to set up a clash with the top-seeded Japanese duo of Mayu Matsumoto and Wakana Nagahara.

Meanwhile, Lakshya Sen withdrew from the tournament due to a slight strain in his back. However, another singles competitor from India, Priyanshu Rajawat also bowed out in the first round following a straight games loss to Japan's Kanta Tsuneyama by a scoreline of 13-21, 14-21.
