Saraswati Puja observed all across the state with pomp and gaiety


People all across the state enthusiastically celebrating Saraswati Puja in most of the houses of the state including schools and colleges on Sunday.

People are enthusiastically participating in the puja with pomp and gaiety. However, the goddess of art, wisdom and culture is worshipped on this day by students across Tripura and rest of India. Goddess Saraswati is represented in white saree as white is the symbol of purity and peace. Besides, Goddess Saraswati who signifies knowledge, learning, arts and culture is portrait riding on a swan or sitting on lotus flower. However, Saraswati Puja is performed to pay allegiance to the Goddess of learning. Educational institutions and other learning institutes observed the puja with religious rituals on their campuses. Students turned in large numbers in the venues to seek the blessings of the goddess. According to mythology, Goddess Saraswati is referred as the water deity and is revered for her purifying and enriching powers. The Goddess of knowledge and learning is said to have invented Sanskrit, the language of the Brahmins, of scriptures and scholars. According to Hindu mythology, the daughter of Goddess Durga comes with the whole family in autumn, during Durga Puja.
