Assam Rifles Seizes 195 kg of Marijuana in Joint Operation with DRI


In a swift and decisive anti-narcotics operation, Assam Rifles, in close coordination with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), successfully seized approximately 195 kg of marijuana in the general area of Taranagar, Agartala on Thursday.

The contraband, estimated to be worth ₹30 lakhs in the local market, was intercepted as part of ongoing efforts to combat the growing menace of drug trafficking in the region. This operation highlights Assam Rifles' unwavering commitment to protecting the youth from the dangers of narcotics abuse and maintaining peace and security in the Northeast.

This successful interdiction is part of sustained efforts to curb illegal activities along the Indo-Bangladesh border, where Assam Rifles continues to maintain a high level of vigilance to dismantle smuggling networks and safeguard national security.
