BSF seizes large amount of cattle enroute to Tripura from Assam


Acting on an intelligence input, the troops of Border Security Force (BSF) of the 105th bn. on Sunday seized a large amount of Myanmar-breed cattle from at least 20 vehicles which were enroute to Tripura from neigbouring Assam.

According to the BSF press communique, 20 vehicles carrying cattle and another leading vehicle from front was intercepted. 18 people involved in the illegal transportation of livestock were nabbed, it stated.

The press communique further state that during the search and seizure operation, the BSF team recovered 86 livestock that were being transported in vehicles.

“Vigilant BSF troops deployed on the extreme frontiers of the country in Tripura are effectively guarding the international border and regularly rescuing livestock and reducing crime from the bordering areas,” it stated.
