Preparation for Election to Lone Lok Sabha seat going on in Mizoram


Preparation for the election to the lone Lok Sabha seat is going on in Mizoram, on a massive scale with officials taking all efforts leaving nothing to chance. Addressing media persons in Aizawl on Monday, Aizawl Deputy Commissioner Nazuk Kumar, who is also the Returning Officer for the lone Lok Sabha seat said that preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Aizawl District has been more or less completed.

She said that the first phase of training for polling officials will be conducted on March 26 and 27, in which 24 master trainers will be imparting training to the polling parties.

Meanwhile, the People’s Conference (PC) party today named Rita Malsawmi as their candidate for the Lok Sabha polls. Earlier, the ruling Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) announced the name of Richard Vanlalhmangaiha as their official candidate.

Polling in Mizoram will be held on April 19 while counting of votes will take place on June 4.
