State level 100-day campaign for elimination of TB launched


Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday launched the state level 100-day TB Elimination Campaign here in a function at Bishalgarh in Sepahijala district of the state and pitched to generate more awareness for elimination of the TB disease.

Addressing the event, the Chief Minister Dr Saha said, “Asha and health workers as well as people from all sections of the society including public representatives must come forward to eliminate TB disease from the state.”

“The government has taken various initiatives in collaboration with the central government to improve the health infrastructure of the state,” Dr Saha said, adding that this 100-day campaign aims to accelerate the fight against TB by improving case detection, reducing diagnostic delays, and enhancing treatment outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations.

He said, “Timely detection of TB, consumption of nutritious diet, taking necessary precautions and prompt treatment are important factors to be free from TB.”

The Chief Minister hoped that the 100-day TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan would play a role in raising awareness about TB disease. On the occasion, Chief Minister also flagged off the official launch of the 'Ni-Kshay Bahan' van.
