Police seizes Yaba Tablets worth Rs 9 Lakh, 2 arrested

Acting on a tip-off, police personnel from Dharmanagar police station conducted a successful anti-narcotics operation and seized 1,800 Yaba tablets, estimated to be worth around Rs 9 lakh in the black market. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the drug trafficking case.

The operation took place near the Dharmanagar police station area, where a vehicle bearing registration number TR05A-2842 was intercepted and searched. The contraband tablets were recovered during the search.

The two accused have been identified as Ashish Chakma and Bishal Chakma.  “A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered. We are investigating further to uncover the full extent of the network involved,” said Police.

Authorities suspect the involvement of a larger drug trafficking ring and have intensified their efforts to trace the origins and intended distribution channels of the seized narcotics.
