CM Dr. Manik Saha inaugurates 63rd Foundation Day of GBP Hospital


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday inaugurated the 63rd foundation day of the Agartala GBP Hospital and said that his government has taken multifaceted initiatives to upgrade the infrastructures of the hospital and ensure quality health care services for the people of the state and abroad.

Addressing the gathering in the programme, CM Dr. Saha said, “Ensuring better health services to the people is a priority area of the government and as part of this government has taken multifaceted actions to boost the health care services in the hospital.”

“The GBP Hospital, which has its reputation is no less than any other giant hospitals. We are contemplating to render quality health care services from the hospitals and as part of this series of infrastructural development took place during the last 5 years in the hospital. Following this the rate of patients moving abroad has declined recently,” Dr. Saha said.

He said, “The GTBP Hospital has its own historical significance, where the hospital is still remembered for its outstanding health service during the time of the Bangladesh liberation war, where the war victims were treated.”

On the foundation day, the Chief Minister also launched five new different services of the hospital including Super Specialty Block, Geriatric Ward, Female Medicine Ward-II, newly renovated Pediatric Ward and expanded Dialysis Unit.
