CM Dr Manik Saha lays foundation stone of new SP office in Gomati district


Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday laid the foundation stone for construction of a new office of the Superintendent of Police in Gomati district of the state and claimed that the crime rates are gradually reducing in the state due to better rule of law.

Addressing the event in Udaipur on Friday, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the increasing rate of drug addiction among the youths. He urged for more awareness and said that there is a need to carry out more anti-drug campaigns among the youths.

He also said that the government is determined to ensure safety and security for the women, following which at least 9 women police stations were established in eights districts of the state, where women are enabled to lodge their complaints.

Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, Gomti Zilla Parishad Chairperson Deval Deb Rai, MLA Abhishek Deb Rai, MLA Pathanlal Jamatia, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumder, DGP (Intelligence) Anurag, and others were present in the programme.
