Budget for tribal groups increased by four times – Nadda launches BJP’s campaign train in Tripura

The BJP’s national president J P Nadda on Friday landed here at Agartala to launch the party’s campaign train for the February 16 assembly election.

Addressing a Vijay Sankalpa rally at Amarpur in Gomati district of the state on Friday Nadda said, “The budget for tribal groups has been increased by four times. No one has cared about tribals for the previous 70 years.”

“Union Budget 2023-24 is the first budget of ‘Amrit Kaal’, which perhaps is a blueprint for India’s development; it is filled with aspirations and a framework to make the nation’s economy truly inclusive and empowered.” he added.

He said, “At a time when PM Modi laid special emphasis on North-East India, the state of Tripura along with other parts of the country is progressing first towards development under the rule of the BJP. Today we can say with pride that it is the ‘New Tripura’ with new aspirations.”

Nadda took a jibe at the opposition CPI(M) party on Friday and said, “Tripura, which was formerly a place of insurgency, bloodshed, bandh, strikes, and terrorism witnessed large scale violence in the past.

Meanwhile, slamming the congress party Nadda said, “There had always been corruption, violence, cheating and what not under the Congress’ rule, and under the Communists’ rule. They have both stood together now, both are corrupt. But the BJP has come ahead to save Tripura from the clutches of corruption and misrule.”
