Guv Indrasena Reddy calls for collective effort to end drug abuse in Tripura

Reacting sharply to the drug menace in the state of Tripura, Governor Indrasena Reddy on Monday called for boycotting the people, who are aiding in importing drugs to the state of Tripura from Myanmar and Bangladesh.

“I appeal to the people to come together and boycott the drug traders and declare them anti-nationals, as they are posing threat to the country by importing drugs to the state from other countries,” he said, while addressing a press conference here at Agartala Raj Bhavan on Monday.

He said, “Police is working actively in controlling the drug menace in the state, but there is a need of collective effort from the general masses of the state, so that the drug abuse is ended.”

“Tripura has the highest drug seizures in the region, but people need to come together to fight against this drug abuse, which is destroying the youths and the country as a whole,” he told reporters.
