War on Drugs: AR Seizes marijuana worth over Rs 10 Cr

In a major crackdown on narcotics smuggling, Assam Rifles along with Customs Department successfully seized 2286.9 kilograms of marijuana (ganja) from Bejoynagar area on Saturday.
Acting on a specific information, Assam Rifles along with Customs Department conducted a joint operation at Bejoynagar area. During the operation they seized 2286.9 kilograms of marijuana (ganja), striking a significant blow to the smuggling networks in the region. Two individuals were also arrested during the operation. Moreover, the estimated value of the confiscated marijuana (ganja) in the illicit market amounts to approximately Rs 10.29 crores. The seized contraband and apprehended individuals were handed over to authorities for further legal action. The successful interdiction is part of the ongoing efforts by Assam Rifles to counter illegal activities along the border areas and ensure national security.
