Tripura villages turned to ‘Tiranga village’ to propagate patriotism


At a time when the country is celebrating the 75 years of independence and the 76th Independence Day with ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to mark ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the Northeastern states of Tripura kicked off the campaign with patriotic fervor and leaving no stone unturned to propagate patriotism among the villagers the village in Uttar Majlishpur in West Tripura district cited a remarkable example of patriotism.

The village in Jirania Block, named as ‘Tiranga village’ portrayed the martyred heroes and freedom fighters of the nation through a splendid painting on the mud-walls of the houses in the village.

The state Information and Cultural Affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday paid a visit to the village and hoped that this Tiranga village in Uttar Majlishpur shall propagate patriotism among all walks of life of the state.

“With the call of PM Narendra Modi, the state of Tripura along with the rest of the country kicked off the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign from August 13 last. With this we have witnessed the implementation of Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat and Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura through this Tiranga village,” he told reporters on Monday.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha accompanied by the ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury along with the administrative officials visited the Tiranga village in Jirania block and interacted with the villagers.
