Oct 03, 2026
Agartala, Oct 3: "The BJP panel's victory in the Bar Council election is undoubtedly a big success," Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said, noting that the party had long been told it always loses in the court premises.
Expressing delight at the result, he described the win as highly significant for democracy. "The Bar Council is an important institution," he said.
"It had been said all along that the BJP panel always loses in the court premises," the Chief Minister said. "In that situation, this election was a big challenge for the party."
Each side fielded seven candidates. However, one more representative among the 14 also contested, who, according to the Chief Minister, was linked to the other side. "In the end, voters understood this and placed their trust in the BJP candidates," he said. "That is why our candidates won."
He also congratulated the winners and their supporters. "I offer my sincere congratulations and good wishes to the elected candidates and to all the voters who supported them," he said.
Moreover, the Chief Minister described the result as the start of a longer run of success. "This victory is a kickstart for the days ahead," he said. He expressed optimism that the success would continue in various fields. "With 2028 in view, this winning streak must be maintained at every level," he added.
